Gumbo is a busybody. He is always in the action and constantly full of life. Perhaps it is not surprising that his restlessness doesn’t end when the lights go out.
He is often eager to go to bed on his on and will make his way up the stairs and burrow under the covers. But during the night, he never stays in one place. He’ll be under the covers or on top then back under. He loves to drape his head over something while he sleeps. He may start the night with his head on Susan’s legs, but there is no doubt he will be on mine at some point during the night.
Lately, our little mischief maker has found a new pillow for his head. We have a quilt on our bed while the weather is cold, and Gumbo has learned that he can roll this quilt up into a burrito. The impressive part is how tightly he rolls it, and somehow he does this without waking anyone else up. Gumbo doesn’t like to let opportunities pass him by, and apparently he is not to be slowed down by the dark of night!
This is a Blog Hop. Thanks to Alfie’s Blog, Snoopy’s Dog Blog, Luna, a Dog’s Life, and My Brown Newfies for setting up this hop. Please go to any of the sponsoring blogs to find out who else has been mischievous or to join the hop.
Gumbo would not be allowed to sleep in my bed lol. I put Luna back in her crate the other night because she kept getting up. I am faaaar too light of a sleeper, and if the Mr. is in the bed it would just make it even harder. He is enough to sleep through lol. I love the antics of your clever boy. I wish Luna was goofier sometimes, she is far too serious like me.

Life with Gumbo keeps me pretty worn out as you might imagine – haha! So I usually have NO trouble sleeping at night!
Hey Gumbo, Jet here. Good job! A blanket burrito… I like it, has a good ring to it. I, too, move around during the night, from bed to floor, from room to room… gotta find just the right spot for the time.
That is funny. So do you have to unroll Gumbo or does he do it on his own?
I wish I could teach him to clean up after himself!!! He would greatly prefer to leave his “pillows” everywhere.
